Pope Leo XIV has clarified his intentions regarding a perceived feud with US President Donald Trump. The Pope stated that debating the Republican was 'not at all' in his interest, despite media speculation. He clarified that his recent remarks about 'a handful of tyrants' were not directed at Trump, as the speech was prepared two weeks prior to the US President's attacks.

The Pope made the remarks during a media interaction aboard his flight to Angola for the third leg of his Africa tour. He expressed frustration with the 'political situation' created by Trump's comments and the subsequent commentary on commentary.

The US President had criticized Pope Leo over his peace message on the West Asia conflict, calling him 'WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy.' Pope Leo had responded by stating he was not afraid of the Trump administration and would continue to speak out about the Gospel message.
