A possible antisemitic hate crime is being investigated by the San Jose Police Department after two Jewish men were attacked at Santana Row over the weekend.
The altercation started when three males approached the victims, both of whom sustained minor injuries, and escalated into a brawl.
According to officials, the fight was sparked after the victims were overheard conversing in Hebrew, and the suspects used antisemitic language during the altercation.
Footage captured on camera shows a young man continuously attacking a person lying on the ground while another suspect restrained the victim's movement.
Medical professionals assessed both victims for minor injuries on the spot, and the suspects left the scene before police arrived.
Politicians have reacted to the 'deeply disturbing incident', with Congressman Ro Khanna and San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan condemning the attacks and calling for the assailants to be held accountable.
