Antisemitic graffiti has been discovered on a wall at San Jose State University, calling for the 'eradication of Jews' and appealing to students to 'make Osama proud.'
The offensive markings, which surfaced on March 11 and 12, also stated: 'SJSU Sorry But for Allah 3/11 will be 9/11.'
University police have launched a probe into the incident, which has sparked concern among students and faculty, particularly Philip Heller, the President of the SJSU Jewish Faculty and Staff Association.
Heller expressed fear that the incident may be a precursor to more violence, citing previous instances of physical violence and derogatory remarks aimed at Jewish, Chinese, and Muslim students.
The latest graffiti incident comes after two Israeli-American men were assaulted outside an upscale restaurant in Santana Row, just a few miles from the campus, in what authorities are treating as a potential antisemitic hate crime.
