Saudi Arabia has declared the Iranian military attaché and four embassy staff 'persona non grata', ordering them to leave within 24 hours.
The move comes as the kingdom condemns 'blatant' Iranian attacks against Saudi Arabia and other Gulf nations.
The Saudi ministry of foreign affairs said the attacks violate international conventions and principles of good neighborliness.
The kingdom has also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its sovereignty and territory, and will take necessary measures to safeguard its citizens and national interests.
Hours after the order, Saudi Arabia reported drone interceptions and ballistic missile launches towards the Riyadh area.
