Six people died and three were injured in a bus fire in a small Swiss town after a man on board set fire to himself, authorities said.
The bus was engulfed in flames on Tuesday evening in Kerzers, a town of about 5,000 inhabitants in the western canton of Fribourg, about 20 km from the Swiss capital Bern.
Swiss investigators said there's no evidence to suggest the man, described as 'disturbed', had intended to commit a terrorist attack.
A criminal investigation has been opened into homicide, arson, and endangering the lives of others.
The victims were aged between 17 and 65, and the suspect, a man of Swiss origin in his 60s, had been reported missing by his family.
Witnesses described the horror of watching people burn in front of their eyes, with one bystander using his hand to put out flames on a woman.
