A massive wildfire dubbed the Coyote Flats fire has engulfed parts of Rapid City in South Dakota, prompting evacuations for the Neck Yoke and Coyote Flats areas.
According to reports, the fire has spread to 50 acres and is still active, with local residents nearby asked to evacuate the fire area.
The Pennington County Emergency Management has issued a WILDFIRE WARNING for the affected areas, urging people to leave immediately and avoid the area to allow crews to operate safely.
A map of the area impacted has been shared online, showing the evacuation order and road closures.
Residents with livestock concerns can seek shelter at the Central States Fairgrounds, and law enforcement will provide escorts to retrieve livestock from specific locations.
