A shooting at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, New York, left a 15-year-old boy dead on Thursday. According to authorities, the teenager was shot in the chest.

Police were called to the area of Baisley and Merrick Boulevards in St. Albans at 6:15pm for shots fired, as per Pix11.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

No arrests have been made, and no details of the suspect have been shared with the public.

A witness described the victim as a 'cool kid' and a good basketball player.

The incident has sparked an ongoing investigation, with police searching for two suspects who fled the scene.
