Texas Plane Crash Leaves One Dead, Five Injured

A plane crash near Saunders in Laredo, Texas on Tuesday, prompted road closures in the area.

At least one person has been killed and five injured in a plane crash in Laredo, Texas. The plane, which was headed for Austin but reported mechanical issues, had been diverted to Laredo before losing contact with traffic controllers prior to the crash.

The plane hit a car at the time of the crash, but it's unclear if those in the car were hurt. Local authorities have confirmed that the plane was a Cessna Citation Latitude, which can typically hold 8-9 passengers.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be conducting separate investigations into the crash.
