Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched an investigation into nearly 30 North Texas businesses suspected of abusing the H-1B visa programme.
The probe, which involves multiple firms, including Tekpro IT LLC and Virat Solutions Inc., alleges that some companies operated 'ghost offices' to sponsor foreign workers.
Paxton vowed to crack down on the abuse, saying his office would 'continue working to uncover and put an end to fraud within the H-1B program.'
As part of the investigation, authorities have sought detailed records from the companies, including employee lists and financial statements.
