Tornado Warnings Halt Flights at Denver Airport, Multiple Counties in Colorado Affected

A tornado warning has been issued for parts of Colorado.

A tornado warning is in effect for Logan County, Morgan County, and Washington County in Colorado until 5pm local time on Wednesday.

A severe thunderstorm watch is also active for the Denver area until 10pm local time, and a tornado watch is in effect until 11pm local time.

Due to the risk of severe weather, the FAA ordered a ground stop at Denver International Airport, grounding departures to Denver in the late afternoon.

As of 5pm local time, Denver International Airport reported 521 delays and 19 cancellations.

The risk of severe weather in Colorado is expected to decrease after 7pm local time, but more severe conditions could return on Thursday and Friday.
