The Donald Trump administration has criticized CNN for broadcasting Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei's first public address.
Rapid Response 47, the US government's official account for tackling misinformation, posted a statement slamming CNN for airing 'four straight minutes of uninterrupted Iranian state TV.'
The post read: 'Fake News CNN just aired four straight minutes of uninterrupted Iranian state TV, run by the same psychotic and murderous regime that has prided itself on brutally slaughtering Americans for 47 years.'
This is not the first time the Trump administration has clashed with CNN, with the president frequently labeling the channel 'Fake News.'
Mojtaba Khamenei's address included warnings to the US and Israel that Iran will continue to attack the Gulf region and respond to aggression on its homeland.
He also stated that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil transit, will continue until US military bases are closed and American forces are removed from the region.
Khamenei vowed to avenge the blood of its martyrs, including victims of the Minab school attack.
