US President Donald Trump expressed his thoughts on Iran's newly appointed Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, stating that he believes the leader is 'damaged, but alive' despite not being seen publicly since taking office.
Trump's comments came after Mojtaba Khamenei's first public remarks were released, in which he vowed to continue fighting and threatened to open 'other fronts' in the ongoing war.
The US President also suggested that ships should 'show guts' and sail through the Strait of Hormuz, despite the difficulties they are facing.
The comments come after a series of US-Israel strikes on Iran, which killed the previous Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and sparked a drone and missile exchange.
Mojtaba Khamenei is believed to be close to Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guard and is seen as even less compromising than his father.
