Concerns over the ongoing Iran conflict have led to a sharp rise in demand for underground shelters, with a US bunker manufacturer reporting a tenfold increase in inquiries since the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran.
Ron Hubbard, founder of Atlas Survival Shelters, said wealthy executives and possibly even members of President Donald Trump's cabinet are among those interested in the shelters.
The company's bunkers vary in scale and price, ranging from prefabricated units costing $20,000 to larger underground facilities costing up to $5 million.
Hubbard estimated that Atlas' monthly sales could climb to $50 million next month if the current demand continues.
He claimed that two members of Trump's cabinet have ordered bunkers, but did not disclose their names.
The recent spike in demand comes on top of a broader trend among wealthy individuals preparing for worst-case scenarios, with global crises repeatedly driving bunker demand.
