President Donald Trump has fired Attorney General Pam Bondi and replaced her with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, amid reports of frustration over her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files and other investigations.
According to CBS, Bondi will be offered another position in the administration, while Blanche will serve as Acting Attorney General.
The move comes after reports of Trump's frustration with Bondi's handling of the Epstein files and other investigations, including those targeting perceived enemies of the former president.
Trump praised Bondi, saying she did a 'tremendous job' overseeing a crackdown on crime, but also mentioned other candidates, including Rep. Lee Zeldin, who could potentially replace her.
Meanwhile, reports suggest Trump has also spoken about sacking Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, reportedly due to her shielding a former deputy who spoke out against the war in Iran.
