US President Donald Trump claimed Iran's new regime President has urged the United States for a ceasefire amid the ongoing war.
Trump added that he would consider the proposal when the Strait of Hormuz is open, free and clear.
Iran has not yet reacted to Trump's claim of its ceasefire request.
Trump's remarks come just hours ahead of his address to Americans regarding the status of war.
