US President Donald Trump has directed the FBI to investigate a series of deaths and disappearances involving government workers linked to sensitive nuclear and space programmes.
The cases involve approximately 10 individuals with ties to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and other defence facilities.
Among the missing or deceased are USAF Maj Gen William Neil McCasland, retired US Air Force Major General who disappeared in February, and several others connected to nuclear facilities in New Mexico.
While speculation about foreign espionage or foul play has accelerated, national security and law enforcement experts see no credible link between the cases.
The FBI and Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration are examining the matter.
