US President Donald Trump has stated that Iran downing an Air Force F-15E jet won't derail talks to end the war, while remaining tight-lipped on what Washington will do in the worst-case scenario of the missing crew member being harmed.

Iran's actions, according to Trump, won't impact the talks, calling it 'a war'. He also declined to comment on his course of action if Iranian forces get to the downed airman.

The status of the missing F-15E crew member is currently unknown, with the Pentagon notifying the House Armed Services Committee that one service member has been recovered, while the other's whereabouts are unknown.

An A-10 'Warthog' pilot was rescued after another US combat plane went down over the Persian Gulf, while multiple media reports suggest that two Air Force helicopters were hit while on a rescue mission to retrieve the missing F-15E crew member.
