US President Donald Trump is calling for peace talks with Iran after a war that has left over 1,500 dead in Iran, 1,000 in Lebanon, and 13 US military personnel.
Trump's administration is holding talks with Iran, and the US President has spoken of working with Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
Pakistan has emerged as a potential host for the negotiations, with its Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offering to facilitate talks.
Other countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey, are also mediating in the conflict, which has hit global oil supplies.
India and Qatar have also called for peace, with India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that ensuring the Strait of Hormuz remains open is essential for the whole world.
However, analysts remain cautious, saying that trust has been destroyed and the positions of the warring parties are further apart than ever.
