US President Donald Trump has expressed a significant shift in his stance on the Iran war, indicating a desire to bring American troops home despite his initial preference for capturing the nation's oil.
In comments made during an Easter function at the White House, Trump stated that 'the American people would like to see us come home,' contradicting his previous assertion that he would 'take the oil' if given the choice.
Trump also referenced a CNN poll indicating that he enjoys complete support from people who identify as MAGA voters, but acknowledged that the general public may not understand the reasoning behind a mission to 'take the oil.'
However, Iran has rejected a ceasefire offer, with the head of the Iranian diplomatic mission in Cairo stating that they will only accept an end to the war with guarantees that they won't be attacked again.
