US President Donald Trump confirmed that the US carried out strikes against 'every military target' on Iran's Kharg Island export hub, but clarified that the oil infrastructure was not hit.

Trump stated that the US Central Command-led attack was meant to send a warning rather than cripple Iran’s energy exports.

However, he warned that if Iran or any other entity interferes with the free passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, he will reconsider his decision not to target the oil infrastructure.

The strikes have led to a surge in oil prices, with Brent crude settling above $100 a barrel for the second straight session.

Millions of barrels of oil remain trapped in the Persian Gulf, causing a significant disruption to global supply.
