US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to speed up access to medical research and treatment based on psychedelic drugs, especially Ibogaine, with conservative podcaster Joe Rogan in attendance.

The order aims to expedite review of drugs such as ibogaine, which US military veteran groups claim can help treat post-traumatic stress disorder.

Trump appeared to be well aware of Rogan's criticism of the Iran war, calling him an 'amazing guy' and joking that he was a 'little bit more liberal' than others.

During the signing ceremony, Trump quipped that he wanted to take a psychedelic for symptoms of anxiety and depression, saying 'I'd like some ibogaine, please?'
