US President Donald Trump said he believes he can get a deal with Iran by Monday or he would consider drastic action. In a telephonic conversation with Fox News, Trump stated that current negotiators on the Iranian side have been granted limited amnesty.
Trump also threatened to 'blow everything up and take over the oil' if Iran does not make a deal quickly. The comments come after his social media post warning Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz, with Trump earlier threatening to strike Iran's power plant and bridges if the country did not comply.
Trump has repeatedly urged Iran to make a deal with the US, warning to attack its infrastructure. Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, has left the door open for peace talks with Pakistan's mediation, while senior officials from Iran and Oman met to discuss easing the flow of transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
