US President Donald Trump has vowed to find and punish the journalist who first reported the rescue of an American airman from Iran, warning they could face jail if they refused to reveal their source.
The rescue operation, which involved hundreds of special operations personnel, followed the shooting down of an American military aircraft and lasted two days.
Trump claimed the leak had put the ongoing effort to recover the second airman at risk, although that airman was later rescued.
He said the US leader would push the journalist to reveal their source and also warned that they could face jail if they refused.
The journalist in question remains unclear, with several media outlets and reporters being speculated to be the source of the leak.
