Former Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard shared an update about her husband Abraham Williams, who is recovering after undergoing a lengthy surgery for a rare form of bone cancer.

Williams was diagnosed with a very rare sacral chordoma, a slow-growing tumor that can develop along the spine or at the base of the skull.

The surgery to remove bone and surrounding tissue lasted nearly seven hours and was successful, but Williams had a rough night and is in a lot of pain.

Gabbard thanked supporters for their prayers and messages, saying now recovery begins.

This health update comes weeks after Gabbard announced her resignation from her role as Director of National Intelligence in order to care for her husband during his treatment.
