The UAE has rejected Iran's accusations that the US used UAE territory to attack Tehran's Kharg Island, calling it a 'confused policy'.
UAE presidential advisor Anwar Gargash said the UAE has the right to defend itself against Iran's ongoing strikes but chooses to exercise restraint.
Gargash claimed Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi's statement condemned his own country, entrenched its isolation, and exposed its aggression.
The UAE had made sincere efforts to mediate between Washington and Tehran to avert the war, Gargash added.
Iran had issued an evacuation warning for three major UAE ports, including the busiest in the Middle East, threatening non-US assets for the first time.
Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi claimed the US attacked Kharg Island and Abu Musa Island with low-range artillery from two UAE locations.
However, hours after the threat, there was no sign of an attack on Dubai's Jebel Ali port or the Khalifa port in Abu Dhabi.
