Retired Major General William McCasland, 68, a prominent figure in US aerospace research and military leadership, has been reported missing since February 27. Authorities have issued a Silver Alert for his safe return due to his ongoing medical issues.
McCasland was last seen near Quail Run Court NE in Albuquerque, and concerns have mounted due to his medical history. He is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.
A 34-year Air Force career saw McCasland hold pivotal positions in space systems, air research, and acquisition, and defence technology development. He notably served as commander of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
The search for McCasland is ongoing, with New Mexico Search and Rescue supporting the inquiry. Local authorities have posted an image of McCasland on social media platforms and expressed concern for his safety.
