US Attorney General Pam Bondi is facing impeachment threats over her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, with a Democrat warning she could lose her job. Representative Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) has filed articles of impeachment against her, accusing her of weaponizing and politicizing the DOJ, dereliction of duty and obstruction of justice, and obstruction of Congress.

Bondi is under fire for the DoJ's failure to release all of the Epstein files by the congressionally mandated time and for initially mishandling redactions that exposed the identities of some victims. She has also been criticized for not meeting some of the victims.

Thanedar's move comes after a bipartisan congressional panel voted to subpoena Bondi to testify on the handling and disclosure of records connected to Epstein. The US House Oversight Committee voted 24 to 19 to force Bondi to testify.
