Anthropic has received authorization from the US government to allow a small group of American cybersecurity firms to access its powerful AI model Mythos 5.
Access to Mythos 5 had been blocked due to national security concerns.
Anthropic will continue discussions with the government to expand access to Mythos 5 and make Fable 5 available again to the general public.
The company's AI models were previously blocked after discovering vulnerabilities in the safeguards put in place to prevent misuse.
The move has drawn accusations of government overreach, following an earlier clash with the White House over mass surveillance and autonomous weapons.
