President Donald Trump has announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran, citing a 10-point proposal from Tehran and a request from Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Trump said the US has already met and exceeded its military objectives and is close to a definitive agreement for long-term peace with Iran and the Middle East.

The US-Iran ceasefire comes after Trump warned Iran earlier on Tuesday that 'a whole civilization will die tonight' if his demands were not met.

The US and Israel have launched attacks targeting Iran's military capabilities, leadership, and nuclear program, while Iran has responded with strikes on Israel and Gulf Arab neighbors.
