The US and Iran's nuclear deal talks have stalled over a disagreement on the duration of a nuclear ban, with Washington demanding a 20-year suspension and Tehran offering a 5-year pause.
According to a report, the US proposed a 20-year 'suspension' of all nuclear activity, rather than a permanent ban, while Iran offered a 5-year halt in nuclear activity.
The US also wants Iran to remove 970 pounds of near-bomb-grade uranium from the country and ensure that uranium is not enriched in the future.
Tehran has refused to give up its nuclear plans, dismantle its atomic setup, and move its stockpile of fuel out of the country, which remains a major point of dispute.
Pakistan has suggested holding another round of talks between the US and Iran in Islamabad, and both sides are considering new face-to-face discussions to reach an agreement.
