Amid ongoing uncertainty over the Strait of Hormuz, several oil tankers have u-turned in the Persian Gulf after attempting to transit the waterway, according to Bloomberg.

US President Donald Trump has stated that the ceasefire may end if no long-term deal is reached by Wednesday, the deadline for the two-week pause to Middle East fighting, as reported by Reuters.

Trump also emphasized that the US blockade of Iranian ports will 'remain' if no deal is reached, potentially leading to renewed conflict.

The two sides are set to engage in talks in Islamabad on Monday, following the collapse of previous negotiations without a deal.

Iran has partially reopened the Strait of Hormuz, but warned that it will close the strategic waterway again if the US continues its blockade of Iranian ports.
