US President Donald Trump has warned that 'lots of bombs start going off' if the Iran war ceasefire expires on Wednesday, April 22, as the two-week truce nears its end.

The ceasefire, brokered by Pakistan, was announced after a month of missile and drone exchanges between the US and Iran, which had sparked a full-scale war in the Gulf region.

However, with the truce set to expire, both the US and Iran have warned they are ready for war, as uncertainty prevails over talks that Trump had announced would resume in Pakistan.

The White House said Vice President JD Vance was ready to fly back to Islamabad for a second round of talks, but Tehran's cleric-run government has declined to confirm its participation, accusing the US of violating the truce through its blockade of Iranian ports and seizure of a ship.

The Iran-US war has shaken global markets and engulfed the Middle East, with the US and Israel launching fresh surprise strikes on Iran in February this year.
