Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth rejected reports of food shortages aboard two US Navy vessels operating in the Strait of Hormuz, calling the coverage misleading.

The USS Lincoln and USS Tripoli have more than 30 days of Class I supplies (food) on board, according to Hegseth, who cited logistics stats confirmed by his team.

The US Navy also dismissed the reports, stating that recent claims of food shortages and poor quality aboard deployed ships are false.

Despite the denial, concerns were raised by a lawmaker, Mike Levin, who urged further scrutiny, saying that service members are rationing food and going without fresh produce.
