US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth has stated that the key to deploying American troops in Iran is to 'be unpredictable', echoing US President Donald Trump's sentiments.

During a press conference, Hegseth said that the US is engaged in talks to end the conflict, but if a deal is not struck, Washington is ready to continue Operation Epic Fury for another four to eight weeks.

US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine revealed that Washington has destroyed over 150 ships, including all Jamaran class frigates, and continues to target Iran's defence industrial base.

The war secretary added that the talks to end the war are ongoing and 'gaining strength', but the US remains committed to ending the conflict on 'our and Trump's terms'.
