The US has issued a Level 3 travel advisory for Pakistan, advising Americans to reconsider travel to the country due to armed conflict, terrorism, crime, and kidnapping threats.
The advisory, issued by the US Embassy in Islamabad, cited no changes to the advisory level or risk indicators for Pakistan, but ordered non-emergency US government employees and their family members to leave the country due to safety risks.
The advisory specifically warns against traveling to the Balochistan Province, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, and the vicinity of the Line of Control due to terrorism and kidnapping threats.
The travel advisory comes amid border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, as well as protests near US embassies in Pakistan following the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
