The body of Nahida S Bristy, a 27-year-old chemical engineering student from Bangladesh, was found in a Tampa waterway after a kayaker discovered her remains in a plastic bag.

According to Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister, the fisherman initially went to free his snagged line and noticed something suspicious in the mangroves.

Her identity was confirmed through DNA, dental records, and clothing she was last seen wearing on surveillance video.

Bristy's disappearance was out of character, with her family in Bangladesh stating that she would never go offline or willingly disappear.

Her boyfriend, Zamil Limon, was found dead in a black trash bag in the same area just days earlier, with signs of multiple stab wounds and bound hands and ankles.

Hisham Saleh Abugharbieh, Limon's roommate and a former USF student, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with both deaths.
