Utah Governor Spencer Cox declared a statewide emergency on Thursday as the Cottonwood Fire grew into the largest active wildfire, forcing evacuations and blanketing neighboring areas in smoke.

The fire, which started on June 22, has already burned over 72,000 acres and is 0% contained, prompting the closure of Eagle Point Ski Resort and the temporary evacuation of the town of Eureka.

A 'Particularly Dangerous Situation' warning has been issued by the National Weather Service, and personal fireworks are banned until July 5th ahead of Fourth of July celebrations.
