As Afghanistan and Pakistan engage in a war-like situation, heavy rains and floods have claimed dozens of lives in both countries.

In Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, nine people, including eight children, lost their lives, while 47 others were injured due to the heavy rains.

The situation is similar in Afghanistan, where heavy rains have led to the deaths of 22 people and injured 32 others, with most of the casualties reported from areas such as Parwan, Maidan Wardak, Daykundi, and Logar.

The United Nations lists Afghanistan as a country prone to natural disasters and among the most vulnerable to climate change, with the country struggling to cope with such disasters following a decline in international aid.

Meanwhile, both countries are engaged in an active conflict for around a month now, with tensions escalating into a war-like situation, and the international community alarmed by the renewed fighting.
