White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt cautioned reporters to take Iran's words at face value, citing 'mixed messaging' from the Iranian media about ongoing tensions with the United States.

Leavitt stated that the US understands Iran's decision-making structures but awaits a unified response from Tehran.

The White House clarified that President Trump's decision to extend the US-Iran ceasefire is open-ended, with no new deadline in place.

Iran's chief negotiator responded, saying it's not possible to open the Strait of Hormuz due to 'blatant violations of the ceasefire' by the US and Israel.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that breach of commitments, blockade, and threats are main obstacles to genuine negotiations.
