World of Warcraft is down for thousands of US users, with nearly 3000 outage reports logged on Down Detector, which tracks user-reported disruptions.
Player of World of Warcraft, the indie action and role-playing simulation game by Blizzard is down for thousands of users in the United States. According to Down Detector, a platform that tracks such outages based on users’ reports, nearly 3000 users are reporting the outage.Blizzard responded to the outage, posting on X: "We are currently investigating an issue which may result in disconnections from the game. We apologize for the inconvenience!"The graph on Down Detector showed that the outage started around 7am ET before peaking 15 minutes later with 2,965 reports. After that, the number of reports fell. Company Clarifies Amidst Claims Of DDOS AttackAfter the outage, claim spread on social media that the servers of World of Warcraft was suffered a DDOS attack. Hundreds of posts were made on X, the platform formerly called Twitter, speculating about an attack. However, Blizzard stepped in and clarified that it was not a DDOS attack."No, this doesn't appear to be a DDOS.
