In a significant development, the Delhi Police has arrested three more individuals in connection with the Turkman Gate stone-pelting incident, taking the total number of arrests to 16. The latest arrests bring to light the scale of the violence that erupted on January 6, leaving the police and residents shaken. The suspects, identified by the police as Mohd Naved, Mohd Faiz, Mohd Ubaidullah, Mohd Arib, Mohd Kashif, Mohd Kaif, Mohd Adnan, Sameer Hussain, Mohd Athar, Shahnawaz Alam, Mohd Imran, Mohd Imran alias Raju, Mohd Affan, Mohd Adil, Mohd Aamir Hamza, and Mohd Ubaidullah, are currently being questioned by the police. According to Additional Commissioner of Police Nidhin Valsan, the arrests were made on Friday night, and the police are working tirelessly to maintain law and order in the area. A large contingent of police and paramilitary personnel has been deployed to sensitive pockets to prevent any further violence. The police are also keeping a close eye on social media influencers who allegedly circulated misleading information about the incident. Ten influencers have been identified, and one of them, Aimen Rizvi, has been summoned for questioning. However, Rizvi claims she has not received any summons from the police and has cooperated with the investigation. The police are also scrutinizing the role of a Samajwadi Party MP in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are examining digital evidence, identifying those involved in spreading misinformation, and questioning suspects linked to the violence. The situation in the area remains peaceful, with the police conducting drone surveillance and extensive CCTV monitoring to maintain a tight vigil. The police have assured residents that they are committed to maintaining law and order and preventing any further violence.
