The Centre said that 1,545 trees have died post-transplantation, while 24,450 trees were planted as compensatory plantation in NTPC ECO Park, Badarpur, and Ghitorni.
The total expenditure on these activities over the last three financial years is ₹5.29 crore.
The highest number of tree transplantations originated from CCS 1, 2, and 3 sites, accounting for 1,734 trees, while the new Parliament Building site saw 402 trees transplanted.
The NTPC ECO Park in Badarpur received the most number of transplanted trees, with other sites including Ghata Masjid and Krishna Menon Marg.
The Central Vista project faced significant delays due to the pandemic and legal uncertainty, but received a green signal from the Supreme Court in January 2021.
