Five friends were killed in a tragic car accident on Karnataka's National Highway 150 (A) near Tumakuruhalli Gate in Chitradurga district. The victims were identified as Raghavendra, Pramod, Rudresh, Somashekhar, and Mallikarjuna, all residents of Challakere.
The group was traveling from Hanagal to Challakere when their car crashed into a parked lorry at 9:45 pm. The driver lost control of the vehicle after a tyre burst, resulting in a fatal impact that crushed the car and killed all five occupants on the spot.
A police team from Molakalmuru police station reached the scene and recovered the bodies with the assistance of locals. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and further investigation is underway.
