Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced a compensation of ₹5 lakh each for the families of three labourers who lost their lives in a landslide at a road construction site in Hulikal Ghat, Hosanagara taluk.
The landslide occurred on Thursday afternoon, trapping seven workers, with three - Raghavendra, Raju, and Shabbir - dying on the spot.
An investigation is underway to determine if adequate safety measures were in place at the worksite, which is known for steep curves and landslide-prone terrain.
