The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has replaced Raghav Chadha as the deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, naming Ashok Kumar Mittal in his place.

The decision stems from Chadha's 'silence on matters related to AAP and absence from events led by Arvind Kejriwal', according to party leaders.

Chadha's silence during the arrest of Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia has been a key issue, with party leaders claiming he stayed away from the case despite his return to India.

Ashok Kumar Mittal, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, has been named as the new Deputy Leader in the House.

Mittal has downplayed the change, stating that finding a development was part of the 'normal process' of the party and that he will learn the processes and administrative skills in politics.
