Actor Anil Kumar Rastogi, 83, responded to trolls after a video of him missing a handshake with PM Modi at the Padma Awards went viral.
He stated that 'not everything is about politics' and that he was 'anxious and overwhelmed' during the ceremony.
Rastogi, a Padma Shri award winner and BJP supporter, clarified that he holds high regard and respect for PM Modi.
He also addressed criticism from Trinamool Congress spokesperson Saket Gokhale, saying he was 'a man of 80+ years' and that the handshake snub was an 'oversight due to my age.'
Rastogi was conferred with the Padma Shri for his contributions to theatre, cinema, radio, and television, as well as his work as a scientist and philanthropist.
