Madurai, AIADMK leader R B Udhayakumar has issued a stern warning to TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna over alleged attempts to poach AIADMK workers. Udhayakumar dismissed claims that 90% of AIADMK cadres were ready to join TVK, saying that any further attempts would result in 'severe political consequences'.
The former minister accused TVK of using money power and administrative lures to buy out loyal opposition cadres, and slammed the party for creating a 'mirage of despair' around the AIADMK.
Highlighting the electoral math, Udhayakumar pointed out that 68.5% of the total voting population in Tamil Nadu cast their ballots against the DMK, and that TVK's 34.5% share of anti-incumbency sentiment was nowhere near a mandate to claim absolute authority or state governance.
The AIADMK leader reiterated that the party's two-crore-strong cadre base would retaliate legally and politically if the poaching operation continued, and warned that any attempts to poach loyalists would result in a 'severe and violent political backlash'.
