The AIADMK has softened its stance towards expelled leaders O Panneerselvam (OPS) and TTV Dhinakaran, paving the way for possible reunification. Talks are underway between TVK, led by former AIADMK minister KA Sengottaiyan, and the OPS camp. According to Sengottaiyan, TVK is in discussions with both OPS and Dhinakaran, who was ousted from the NDA earlier this year. The BJP, which is keen on uniting AIADMK factions, has held talks with AIADMK general secretary Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS) for seat sharing. While EPS has refused to take back OPS and Dhinakaran into the party, he is open to accommodating them as allies of the NDA. The Dhinakaran-led AMMK has, however, ruled out accepting EPS as the chief ministerial candidate for the 2026 assembly elections. OPS' camp is now weighing its options, with some leaders considering joining TVK. Sengottaiyan, who was also expelled from the AIADMK, has confirmed that TVK is in talks with former AIADMK leaders. TTV Dhinakaran has dismissed rumors of the AIADMK allotting six seats to AMMK, saying that important parties are in alliance talks with him. Meanwhile, a senior AIADMK leader has hinted at the possibility of rapprochement with OPS and Dhinakaran, stating that EPS is unlikely to take them back into the party but is willing to accommodate them as allies in the NDA.
