A horrific incident shook the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) campus when a 45-year-old teacher, Rao Danish Hilal, was gunned down in cold blood on Wednesday night. The chilling CCTV footage shows Hilal being shot four times from point-blank range, even after he had fallen to the ground. Hilal, who worked as a teacher at AMU's ABK Union School, was walking on the football ground near Kennedy Hall when two unidentified assailants ambushed him. The shocking footage captures the moment when a man emerges from behind and fires multiple shots at Hilal, who is seen lying motionless on the ground. Despite his condition, the assailant continues to fire four more shots from point-blank range. According to the FIR filed by Hilal's brother, Dr Rao Faraz Waris, the victim was taking a walk with his friend after having tea at the Maulana Azad Library canteen when they heard a gunshot. They rushed to the spot and found Hilal lying injured on the ground. The attackers allegedly fired at them as well before fleeing. The police have formed three teams to trace the accused and have revealed that they appeared to be known to the victim. Although the motive behind the killing is still unknown, an eyewitness has revealed that the attackers briefly interacted with Hilal before opening fire. Hilal was taken to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), where he was declared dead by the doctors. The AMU spokesperson, Omar S Peerzada, confirmed the news. The police are investigating the case and are yet to make any arrests.
