Alliance Air's Prayagraj-Delhi flight faces engine snag, lands safely with 44 onboard | India News

An Alliance Air flight from Prayagraj to Delhi on Friday faced technical snag ahead of landing as one of its engines became inoperative, airport officials said. Following the technical snag, the flight landed safely at the Delhi airport.Flight 9I 698, operated by Alliance Air and flying an ATR 72 aircraft, had around 40 passengers on board. “The flight declared a full emergency due to one engine being inoperative. All necessary emergency response measures were activated,” an airport official said.The aircraft landed at the Delhi airport around 2.15 pm, as per information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com. However, the airlines said that no emergency was declared. “On 11 Sept 2026, Alliance Air flight 9I-698 operated by aircraft VT-AIU, was operating on the Bilaspur–Prayagraj–Delhi routing. ​During the inbound approach to Delhi, the Pilot-in-Command requested a priority landing due to low oil pressure on LH Side engine,” the airlines said in a statement. On August 28, a Delhi-Bilaspur Alliance Air flight suffered a tyre burst during landing at Bilasa Devi Kevat Airport in Bilaspur, with all 37 passengers and four crew members on board safely evacuated from the aircraft.Bilasa Devi Kevat Airport Director B Singh said the left tyre of the aircraft burst during landing, following which the aircraft suffered a glitch on the runway. He said the passengers and crew members were deboarded on the runway and subsequently taken safely to the terminal building."During landing, the left tyre burst. So, it suffered a glitch on the runway itself. There were 37 passengers and 4 crew members on board. None of them suffered any injuries. Later, they were deboarded on the runway and safely brought to the terminal building. All passengers belonged to Bilaspur," the Airport Director was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.On Monday, Air India's Dammam-Delhi flight made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad Airport after a crew member found a tissue paper bearing the word "bomb" inside the aircraft's lavatory, PTI reported.All 32 passengers onboard were safely deboarded at Terminal 2, while security personnel are conducting a thorough check of the aircraft, Ahmedabad Police said.The aircraft is currently being checked by security agencies as part of precautionary measures, police said.
